Swach Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide clean sweep campaign run by the Indian government, which was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2014 on the occasion of 145th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. This campaign has been started to fulfill the purpose of cleanliness across India. The Prime Minister has appealed to the people to join the Swachh Bharat Mission and motivate other people to join it so that our country can become the best and cleanest country in the world. The campaign itself was started by Narendra Modi himself by cleaning the road.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is India's biggest ever cleanliness campaign, which is attended by about 3 million schools and colleges students and government employees. On the launch day, the Prime Minister announced the names of nine celebrities and asked him to increase the cleanliness drive in his area and motivate the general public to join him. He also said that these celebrities have to motivate the next 9 people to join them and this series will continue until the message of the entire country is reached.
